Outreach Worker In 1999 I became the first outreach worker at LIHH. Much of my early work involved raising awareness of the needs of the Irish community in Leeds to the statutory and voluntary agencies. I now visit people in their own homes and help them access the services they need. In 2000 I helped set-up the over 55’s Day Club which is an enjoyable social afternoon held every week. I love working with the Irish community and find it very rewarding. It is also great to see how much LIHH has developed and the staff team grown over the last few years. Contact Caroline

Housing Support Worker Since moving from Finland 1994 I have worked in social care with disability and mental health organisations. I worked in housing support for 2 years before starting with LIHH in January 2007. The organisation is excellent and I enjoy working with Irish people. My partner’s family came from Co Mayo. Also, as a foreigner I can relate to some of the issues of the Irish in Leeds. A perk of working in Leeds is that it doesn’t reach -30 degrees in the winter time |
